***URGENT******ALERT*** Oliver's foster home can no longer keep him. In just a few weeks, they will surrender him to an animal shelter in Michigan. We are desperately hoping that Oliver's hero/heroine will show up to save him before then. He is currently located in central Arkansas. Searching for food and shelter during an ice storm may not the best way for a short-haired, pit mix from the South to find the good life, but precious Oliver hit the jackpot when he was spotted by a kind-hearted family who took him in. Now, this good-looking boy has been fully vetted, neutered, and treated for heartworms (he is now clear). Although his foster family adores him and Oliver adores the female alpha dog, the persnickety little you-know-what will not tolerate Oliver and has banished him to the garage and side yard. This has made life less than wonderful for the sweet stout boy, and his foster family wants to find him a home where he will be welcomed in the house by all. We believe that Oliver is around 3 years old. He weighs 61 lbs, is crate- and potty-trained, and is very well behaved in the car: He has ridden 14 hours each way to and from Michigan! He is a complete gentleman with humans, including the foster family's newborn, and gets along well with dogs who will tolerate his rough play. He has also survived a tornado! (Oliver Twist?) Oliver does battle dermatitis at times and has a few dark scar patches to prove it, but dry air and over-the-counter benedryl will always clear an outbreak right up.
